Composite Tooling offers some of the advantages of both CNC Aluminum tooling and Silicone Rubber Tooling.  Composite Tooling, like silicone rubber tooling, can be molded relatively quickly at a lower cost than CNC Aluminum Tooling.  Like CNC Aluminum tooling, composite tooling can use production materials for producing injection molded parts.  Examples of production materials would be engineering grade polypropylene or polyethylene or ABS.  Composite Tooling should be your first choice for rapid tooling when you need to produce ~100s of parts (especially complicated geometries where CNC Aluminum tooling is much more expensive and takes longer to make).
